Johnny Blevins

President

Johnny Blevins began his post educational career as a public school teacher and tennis coach. He was also an aquatic director/personal trainer in a private hospital setting before becoming a regional director of sales and marketing for NAYA Canadian Spring Water.

In 1999, he began working for SoBe (South Beach Beverage) brand as a representative for the central U.S. In recognition of his use of creative marketing techniques and bundling items together for increased brand awareness, Blevins was awarded the 2002 Pepsico President’s Ring of Honor in a New York ceremony.

In 2005, he began work on his personal project of Splash Kingdom Family Waterpark in Canton, Texas. The initial facility opened for its inaugural season in June of 2006.

In 2010, Splash Kingdom purchased a second location in Shreveport, LA., then built another ground-up property in Hudson Oaks, Texas in 2013.

Splash Kingdom currently operates 5 locations across Texas and Louisiana. Blevins also owns and operates P23 Consulting Group to help clients design and develop new parks and increase their revenue potential. Recent projects include Typhoon Texas; located in Katy, TX. They chose Blevins as their construction and operations consultant for the impressive project. In 2021, P23 Group worked with the City of El Paso, TX to open 4 new waterparks for the inaugural season.

Brett Blevins

VP of Operations

Brett Blevins began his business career at the age of 6, when he sold his motorcycle to purchase a vending machine. Brett created a 4 slide PowerPoint presentation and secured a meeting with the local laundry mat owner to see if he could place his new machine in this location. After explaining the product, service and revenue split Brett was proposing, the business owner agreed, and for the next 2 years, the vending machine provided snacks for customers and a foundation for business development for Brett.

Brett grew up in East Texas, excelling in music, academics, and community service. He was awarded the Young Man of the Year from the city of Canton in 2014. After graduating from Canton High school, Brett attended Texas A&M University where he graduated in 3 years with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, then completed his MBA with a focus in Finance. During this time, Brett worked in the Texas A&M Foundation in the accounting department, and liaison with university donors. He also performed with the A&M symphonic orchestra, as well as the Fighting Aggie Hullabaloo band, which plays for the university’s indoor sports.

At the age of 9, Brett was an integral part of the development and decisions related to creating the Splash Kingdom Waterpark brand. Participating in planning sessions, construction and engineering meetings, interviews, pool prep, customer service training, park clean-up and inventory management were just a few of the initial components he was involved with. Over the past 17 years, Brett has been central in every facet of the business, including expansion into the Shreveport market, then meeting with city leaders in Hudson Oaks, Nacogdoches, and Greenville. Brett has met with slide suppliers, F&B representatives, design, and engineering firms as well as industrial construction contractors. Brett has held his Lifeguard instructor license from Jeff Ellis and Associates for several years and assists with training and improving the Splash Kingdom aquatic safety teams. He has worked in or led every department in the parks and provides an encouraging leadership style to everyone around him.

Outside of the “Kingdom”, in 2015, Brett was hired to provide leadership and aquatic consulting to the new waterpark concept, Typhoon Texas, located in Katy Texas. Brett would attend Texas A&M 2 days per week and travel to Katy 2-3 days per week to help develop their aquatic protocols and standards while the park was under construction.

Through his many relationships in the amusement industry, Brett became close with the owners of Mini Melts ice cream, and they enlisted him to direct the distribution and growth of the Mini Melts brand in the southern US, In addition to his role as corporate operations director for Splash Kingdom, Brett served as the General Manager of the Texas Division for Mini Melts for several years. He received the Mini Melts Newcomer of the year in 2019.

Brett is the VP of Operations for Philippians 2:3 Consulting and is able to call on his many years of experience in the industry to work with developers, designers and manufactures for a quality finished product that is operator friendly.

Brett was married to (fellow Aggie) Meggan Plyler in February 2020 and they just welcomed their first baby in June of 2022.

Mandy Morris

Partner Success Strategist

Amanda Morris has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Louisiana Tech University. Upon completion of her degree in 2014, she joined the Splash Kingdom Team full time as the Guest Service Manager at the Shreveport, LA location. Here she managed the guest service team, assisted with the food service team, managed daily cashing out procedures for all areas of the park, and handled a large portion of customer relations concerns. In 2015, she was given the opportunity to manage the opening & operation of Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Nacogdoches, TX as the Park Manager. During her time in Nacogdoches, she was responsible for the overall operation and management of the facility. Responsibilities included facility oversight, pool equipment management, water safety team training, daily cash in/out operations, food & beverage management, and customer relations. By the fall of 2017, she moved to work in Splash Kingdom’s Corporate office in Canton, TX as Corporate Operations & Training. In this position, her responsibilities include social media & web marketing, team member assistance & training, accounts, payable & budgeting, and general HR tasks such as onboarding.

In August of 2020, she completed her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. Amanda has won awards for her marketing design work from the World Waterpark Association, is CPO certified, and has been an Ellis & Associates Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor.

With her education and experience at Splash Kingdom, Amanda has worked or assisted in many different areas of a water park facility and organization. Her greatest strengths lie in helping others find solutions for any situation that occurs, creating new and exciting ways to promote the park, and using her analytical skills to find trends in historical data that help make better decisions for the future.

Juan Sanchez

Partner Success Strategist

Introduction

Juan Sanchez is a regional manager for P23 Consulting. He started working for Splash Kingdom in 2014 after graduating from the University of Texas at Tyler, and began working with P23 during the El Paso Multi-park project in 2021.

Background

Juan has always wanted to be involved in helping people and has been in a servant leader setting from the time he started college. While a student at Texas State University, Sanchez accepted a summer internship with the Hispanic Business Alliance in Tyler, TX. There, he was able to help Hispanic business entrepreneurs navigate the process of registering a business. He helped by directing entrepreneurs to appropriate filing offices and served as a translator for entrepreneurs with language barriers seeking to resolve business issues. Sanchez continued to be involved in volunteering while attending the University of Texas at Tyler. He served as a tutor at the Tyler Literacy Council where he helped adults earning a GED and students learning English as a second language.

Splash Kingdom Family Waterparks

Juan Sanchez started working for Splash Kingdom in 2014 after graduating from the University of Texas at Tyler. He began his journey in the aquatics industry at Splash Kingdom’s Weatherford facility where he was the assistant park manager. New to the industry Sanchez quickly became engaged and exceled in managing all aspects of operation. In 2016 his success earned him the opportunity to lead the construction of a new multi-million dollar Splash Kingdom facility in Greenville, TX. Sanchez completed the construction project and successfully transitioned from construction to operations, where he integrated human capital and brought the facility to life. Sanchez spearheaded recruitment, training, and established a facility that nurtured growth and development to the local workforce. In 2019 Sanchez accepted the position of regional manager at Splash Kingdom Family Waterparks for the Canton, TX and Greenville, TX facilities.

Certifications and Education

Juan Sanchez Graduated from Texas State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus in entrepreneurship. He continued his education at the University of Texas at Tyler where he received a Master of Business Administration degree in 2013. He is a certified pool operator as well as a certified food manager. Sanchez is a swim and lifeguard instructor for the Jeff Ellis and Associates program.

Cole Murray

Construction Operations Manager

Background

Cole Murray attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University from 2009 – 2016 when he graduated with a BA in History and a Minor in Forrest Recreation. During college he was very active in the outdoor pursuits program eventually working for the rock-climbing wall and the challenge course departments. He went on to become a manager for both departments where he helped oversee exponential growth in the challenge course program. It was working for Outdoor Pursuits that lead Cole into the camping industry after school and eventually the position he now is in at Splash Kingdom.

Career

In 2013 Cole accepted a position at Sky Ranch in Van Texas as Assistant Activities Manager. Cole was mainly responsible for the challenge course aspect of the Activities department; however, he also was very involved in the water-based activities as well. It was during this time Cole was able to expand upon his knowledge of construction and skills related to developing activity areas. Cole was able to obtain his ACCT Level 2 certification and began to do more and more when it came to challenge course maintenance, repair, and new construction. Cole also learned the ins and outs of water-based activities such as pools, boats, jet skis, and water inflatables. Cole was with Sky Ranch for 4 summers and left in 2016 to pursue his passion of challenge courses on a deeper level. He accepted a position as a trainer for Adventure Experiences, a premier challenge course company with a rich history as a leader in the industry.

Cole travelled the country training, inspecting, and helping to construct challenge courses. In 2017 opportunity came knocking and Cole accepted a position as Assistant Park Manager at Splash Kingdom Family Water Park. Cole was in for a wild ride of challenges and opportunities that provided a vast amount of growth and development. A week and a half before the start of summer preseason Splash Kingdom suffered a devastating fire in it main building and Kitchen area. Cole was a member of a crew that worked tirelessly to get the park back operational before the first guests were scheduled to walk through the gates. After that summer Cole was a part of the construction of the two new buildings that replaced the building destroyed in the fire. In late spring 2018 Cole accepted the new role as General Manager of the Canton park. In 2019 Cole accepted a new role as Corporate Facilities and Maintenance Manager for the Canton park as well as the four other locations in Nacogdoches, Shreveport, Greenville, and Hudson oaks.

For the P2:3 team, Cole’s experience in pump houses, operational planning and construction is extremely valuable for new clients as well as repair and construction projects. Cole works closely with each park team to ensure safe and smooth operation of attractions. In his current position he strives to bring excellence into every project to improve the attractions and facilities for employees and guests of our partner locations.

Robert Dodd

Founder of PromoMEdia LLC

Robert Dodd is an Emmy award-winning Producer/Director who spent 25 years in broadcast television. He is the founder and managing partner of PromoMEdia, a full-service advertising agency. Best described as a guy who comes up with the idea and concepts for a marketing campaign and then exploits technology to get it delivered. Robert enjoys all aspects of the process from writing to shooting, animating, and editing.

Fun Fact: Robert was the third person in the United States to receive FAA authorization to fly drones commercially via a section 333 exemption in 2013.

He currently lives in Tyler, Texas with his wife of almost 3 decades, their two dogs dumb and dumber and enjoys getting out on his road bike for long rides and wrenching on his 700 HP project car appropriately named mid-life crisis.

Jarrett Hale

Owner/Managing Partner of PromoMEdia LLC

Jarrett Hale joined PromoMedia as owner/managing partner in January 2023. Previously, Jarrett enjoyed a distinguished 19-year sales career at KDFW/KDFI, the FOX owned-and-operated operated televisions stations in Dallas-Fort Worth. He served as vice-president/general sales manager beginning in 2010, earlier working as local and national sales manager and account executive.

He began his career at KETK/KFXK, the NBC and FOX affiliates in Tyler and Longview. He worked as news reporter/anchor and assistant news director before moving to sales.

Jarrett graduated with honors from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism and a double minor in political science and English. Jarrett also earned an associate of arts degree with honors from Kilgore College, where he met his future wife, Cynthia, as both played in the Kilgore College Ranger band.

Jarrett enjoys traveling, cars, live music, history, and spending time with his friends and family.

Alyssa Smith

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Graphic Design from the University of Texas at Tyler, Alyssa brings the perfect blend of creativity, technical prowess, and strategic thinking to the world of marketing and promotion.

Alyssa is responsible for breathing life into marketing campaigns through captivating visuals. From crafting eye-catching billboards to designing persuasive flyers and striking designs, Alyssa can do it all. Her expertise extends to any promotional material you can envision, ensuring that clients messages are delivered in the most visually engaging way possible.

Alyssa’s talents don’t stop at static designs. She’s also the thriving force beind clients social media presence. In this digital age, staying connected with audiences on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and more is pivotal, and Alyssa excels in this realm. Her duties include posting content for clients, engaging with their audience through comments, and keeping content fresh to ensure success in the fast-paced world of social media.

Seth Black

Video Production & Editing

Seth is a Texas native who has a love for video production. After receiving a new video camera as a gift from his grandmother in 2003,he began experimenting with shooting and editing, and has been hooked ever since.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Southern Nazarene University in 2008, and today has produced videos for clients all over East Texas.

David England

Website Design & Development

David is a creative problem-solver with a passion for software development. Self-taught, he is now proficient in a number of different coding languages and systems transitioning from the construction industry to scaling a laser cutting company with digital advertising where he discovered his love for web development in 2015. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a knack for turning ideas into reality, David enjoys crafting digital solutions that make an impact.

In 2011, Splash Kingdom was presented with the Industry Leadership Award from the WWA in New Orleans. The WWA’s Board of Directors also named Blevins as the 2012 recipient of their Executive Board Award. Blevins also received the inaugural 2014 Community Builder Award for Canton, TX and Entrepreneur of the Year for Parker County, TX. Blevins currently serves on the board of directors for Educators Christian Fellowship, as well as the Texas Travel Alliance.

He recently celebrated 32 years of marriage to his wife Marci; they have a son, Brett (25) and a wonderful new daughter-in-law, Meggan. Blevins holds a B.S. in education and kinesiology. He is AFO (Aquatic Facility Operator) and CPO (Certified Pool/Spa Operator) certified, as well as a lifeguard instructor for the Jeff Ellis & Associates program.
